Killer Roasting Co.
Small batch goodness.
Founder + Creative Director
Established 2015-2021
Brand Overview
Killer Roasting Company was a small-batch coffee brand that my husband and I co-founded in 2012. Built on a shared passion for craft coffee and creativity, Killer was more than just a coffee roaster; it was a design-forward brand built to connect community, foster collaboration, and deliver quality. From the outset, the goal was to establish a brand that felt elevated, inviting, and unexpected.
Though the business wrapped in 2021, Killer continues to serve as a case study in brand-building with purpose, intention, and creative reach.
Visual Identity
Killer’s visual identity was rooted in a minimal black, white, and gold palette, which was both striking and versatile. The original logo, I hand-drew. It was script-based and was foil-stamped initially in gold on kraft paper bags before evolving into a modern mark used across packaging and merchandise. Playful visual layers were introduced through collaborations with illustrators, adding personality and contrast to the brand’s refined baseline. These limited-edition collaborations became collector favorites and a key part of the brand experience.
Supporting brand materials included custom stickers, totes, packaging, signage, and our branded coffee cart, all of which were consistent in tone and thoughtfully executed.
Creative Direction
As Co-Founder and Creative Director, I led the naming, identity, packaging, and rollout strategy. I designed the logo, guided the visual evolution, and managed every aspect of brand application across web, packaging, merchandise, and events. I also initiated and art-directed collaborations with artists like Brett Stenson, Libby Preiss, and Laura Cornman of Settlewell to keep the brand dynamic and culturally resonant.
Every detail was intentionally crafted to reflect Killer’s ethos: bold, creative, and community-driven.
