Early Collection Campaigns
The collections that redefined Astek’s creative identity.
Before I became Creative Director, Astek was known primarily as a print vendor. I saw an opportunity to shift that perception by showcasing the talent within our in-house team and positioning Astek as a design-forward brand. I led the development and creative direction of Astek’s first original collections, Layered Earth and Lavish (and all that followed), with the goal of showing the industry that Astek could be more than a service provider. These two campaigns laid the foundation for what would become a new era for Astek.
These early collections sparked a series of award-winning collections that ultimately helped put Astek on the map, not just as a printer, but as a creative leader in the wallcovering and print industry. As you'll see throughout the Art Directed Collections section, that vision continues to shape the brand today. Both campaigns were created during a time when Astek embraced the tagline “Bring Design to Life,” a theme reflected in the imagery itself, from rooted stones to a sculptural egg, symbolizing growth, formation, and creative emergence.
Below you’ll find the original art-directed photography I created in collaboration with photographer Marisa Howenstine to debut these collections to the industry.
Lavish Collection
Elegant, mysterious, and timeless. Lavish explored intricate textures and decadent motifs drawn from a bygone era. For the campaign, the model’s sculptural pose and flowing ivory gown embodied the collection’s refined aesthetic. Holding an egg in her palm, she appears statuesque, quietly birthing something new. The styling, lighting, and visual tension captured the surreal luxury at the heart of this collection.

Layered Earth Collection
An objective examination of our manifold and evolving planet, this collection draws from both natural forces and human impact on the landscape. I created the design "Terrain" (shown here) as a collage of geological textures, evoking strata, sediment, and topography. The campaign image shows a model standing against this layered landscape, holding stones that have taken root: an organic gesture symbolizing formation and transformation.
