Killer Collab
Limited-edition creative partnerships brewed through curiosity, craft, and caffeine.
A creative collaboration series from Killer Roasting Co., the new-wave nano roaster I co-founded with my husband back in 2012. Built on craftsmanship, curiosity, and caffeine, Killer was more than coffee; it was a platform for creative experimentation.
Through Killer Collab, we partnered with artists, illustrators, and makers to create limited-run products that reflected both their talents and our values. Each piece was fueled by genuine connection, mutual respect, and a shared obsession with thoughtful detail.
Killer Roasting Co. x Brett Stenson
Portland-based illustrator and designer Brett Stenson brought his signature visual language to a series of collaborations with Killer Roasting Co. As part of our Killer Collab series, Brett created a limited-edition t-shirt inspired by a Rwandan coffee lot, featuring the endangered grey crowned crane, Rwanda's national bird, and a symbol of elegance, resilience, and ecological significance. A portion of the proceeds from each sale was donated to the International Crane Foundation in support of preservation efforts.
In addition to the t-shirt, Brett contributed artwork for our 5to9 zine, as well as artwork for what would be the final run of Killer Roasting Co. labels. His illustrations for our closing series of coffee bags carried the same clarity, strength, and layered symbolism that made his work stand out across all touchpoints of the brand.
This collaboration was part of a broader initiative to partner with independent artists who share our values of creativity, sustainability, and design as a storytelling tool. Brett’s work helped shape the visual identity of Killer Roasting Co.’s final chapter, leaving a bold, lasting imprint on both our brand and our community.
